Texas Style Chili
- 1 lb Bertolino Foods® Certified Angus Beef® Seasoned Ground Beef
- 1 red pepper, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 white onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups water
- In a large skillet or pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, stirring occasionally. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
- Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and salt to the pan. Fry lightly until the onions become translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the diced red and green peppers to the pan and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked ground beef and drained kidney beans.
- Add the tomato paste to the pan, along with 2 cups of water. Stir to combine all ingredients.
- Let the pan simmer on medium heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot, garnished with shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions, if desired.
