Texas Style Chili


  • 1 lb Bertolino Foods® Certified Angus Beef® Seasoned Ground Beef
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups water


  1. In a large skillet or pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, stirring occasionally. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
  3. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and salt to the pan. Fry lightly until the onions become translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the diced red and green peppers to the pan and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the cooked ground beef and drained kidney beans.
  6. Add the tomato paste to the pan, along with 2 cups of water. Stir to combine all ingredients.
  7. Let the pan simmer on medium heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions, if desired.
